Store Cattle
Hexham and Northern Marts held its weekly sale of 269 catalogued cattle from across the North of England. Vendors were once again treated to competitive rates with forward cattle once again easily sold and in high demand.
The sale entry was dominated by native breeds throughout, but it was Charolais cross steers from Mr E Potts, Ednorville, Ryton that took the top honours, selling to £1780.00 & £1710.00. A stylish, black Limousin cross heifer consigned by Messrs R Sinton & Son, White House, Birtley sold to £1670.00.

This second helping from Heckley High House went on to top at £1580.00 for a pen of three and fourteen other pens breaking the £1500.00 barrier.
