An entry that severely lacked flesh and quality but did not affect trade, with trade for plainer, feeding types still buoyant.
Leading the cows was a British Blue cross cow from Messrs J & A Moralee, Hard Riding which cashed at 225.5ppk.

Hexham & Northern Marts sold 1078 prime hoggs to a flying trade averaging £181.12 for all classes from 32kg to 80kg.
A 164% increase in numbers on the year with all vendors well rewarded regardless of numbers forward and location.
Topping the sale at £260 was a tremendous Suffolk x hogg from Messrs R H Thompson & Son, Fitches Grange.
Not far behind at £250 was Texel hoggs from C & C Farming, Flotterton Cottages.
Top ppk went to R N & H N Tweddle, Grange Farm with Texels at 447.1ppk.
