A reduced offering of numbers and quality of cows this week but another straight trade observed and in line with the last week’s sale.
Sale peaked at 223.5ppk for a Black Limousin cross cow from M W & C M Ridley, Shitlington Hall.
N G, K M & J G Beveridge, Low West House sold Limousin cross cows to 219.5ppk and topped the grossing charts at £1734.05.
Ayrshire cows from Messrs G G Baynes & Son, Marley Cote Walls sold to 171.5ppk.
More cows could be easily sold to Vendors here at Hexham.

Hexham & Northern Marts sold 796 Prime Hoggs to a flying trade averaging £161.88 for all types including lean, store types (26kg-74kg), and new vendors travelling to Hexham from across the counties.
Top end of hoggs surpassed other northern centres yesterday. 22 pens over £200.

Mr J S A Dodds, High House sold 15 hoggs averaging £193.87.
J W & N J Stokoe Ltd, Normans Riding sold 5 hoggs averaging £192.90.
Messrs R & I Thompson & Son, Fitches Grange sold 50 hoggs averaging £191.54.
Mrs J North-Lewis, South Farm sold 5 averaging £191.20.
Topping the sale at £238 was a thumping Texel hogg from Messrs A & D Proctor, Swarland Old Hall, Felton.
At £231 was a tremendous Texel x hogg from Mr D Collingwood, Intake Farm, Weardale.
3 pens sold at £229, with 2 from Messrs B A & A M Storrow, Willimoteswick, and the other from Swarland Old Hall.
Top ppk went to Swarland old hall with hoggs at 396ppk, with Messrs J & A Moralee, Hard Riding selling Beltex hoggs at 392.9ppk.
More could easily be sold.
