A large entry of clean cattle this week that was predominantly made up of heavy steers.

Handy weight heifers sold extremely well once again with Limousin cross heifers from Messrs J E Woodman & Son, Great Chesters selling to 320.5ppk and 312.5ppk.

Limousin cross steers from Messrs Thockrington Farms, Thockrington dominated the highest grossing price, selling to £2203.00 and £2191.80.

Just the single young bull forward and what a trade he met. The pure Limousin from Messrs J Lee & Sons, Morley Hill cashed at £2554.63 and 267.5ppk.

Cast Cows & OTM

Another nice entry of cows with a better show forward this week. Trade dearer on the week with another fresh purchaser ringside which ensured killing cows sold to a premium.

The fifty five cows and bulls went on to average 211.3ppk and £1485.72.

Topping the sale today was a shapy Charolais cross cow from Messrs J & A Moralee, Hard Riding that sold to 259.5ppk. Not far behind selling to 255.5ppk was a pure Limousin cow from Messrs J T Nixon & Son Ltd, Stotsfold.

Highest grossing cow of the day came in Angus form, from Messrs C A& J Watmore, Holystone Estate. This brute of a cow went on to realise £2140.79.
