Three clean cattle in this week from Mr FT Walton, Flotterton met a firm trade, similar to last week, and sold to 385.5p/kg and to a grossing high of £2370.83 for Charolais crosses.

CAST COWS
A reduced entry and a poorer show of Cast Cattle forward this week which followed the national trend and met an easier trade compared to the previous weeks. The sale topped at 269.5p/kg for a Charolais x Saler cow from H & E Bird & Sons, Colwell Hill. The same home sold the highest grossing cow, the same way bred and to £2177.10.

Hexham & Northern Marts sold 2417 Prime Lambs to a buoyant trade with returning faces ringside. Lambs lacking flesh worth more in the store ring. Flesh proving key for highest returns.
Topping the sale at £219 was a Superb Texel x lamb from G Williamson, Longshaws.
Top ppk was 395ppk from D Collingwood, Intake with a tremendous handy weight Texel x lamb.
