Cast Ewes
Hexham and Northern Marts sold 1717 Cast Ewes and Rams to another strong trade with a poorer show on display.
Topping the sale at £260 was a tremendous Texel ewe from J Hunter & Son, The Steel. Not far behind at £251 was a trio of Texel ewes from T Common & Son, Low Ardley.
Beltex x ewes sold to £225 for a trio from P & E B Robson, Middle Horsleyhope
Cheviot Mule ewes sold to £180 for 13 from TL Forster & Son, Lowes Fell.
Mule ewes sold to £150 for 6 from Lowes Fell again.
Cheviot Ewes sold to £150 for a duo from D & E Waugh, Effgill, Langholm.
Blackface Ewes sold to £126 for a pen of 18 from J Hunter & Son, The Steel who also sold Bluefaced Leicester ewes to £205
Goats sold to £100 from P Dixon and goats wanted to meet strong demand at Hexham.

Store Lambs
Hexham & Northern Marts sold a catalogued entry of 8217 Store Lambs to another super trade, many thanks must go to all vendors, buyers and staff for making it another successful days trading at Hexham Mart where sheep numbers have been handled with ease sending vendors home delighted. A stunning all in average of £109.57 was witnessed which includes over 3500 Mule and Hill lambs.
Lambs topped at £150 from C R Fawcett, Well house, who sold 101 quality lambs to average £126.60
A J Hogg, Far Brownrigg sold lambs to £145 and averaged £135.48 for 25 shapey sorts another good days trading for the Cumbrian farmer.
One of the biggest shows of mule lambs seen in recent history here at Hexham sold to a flyer to average £106.44 for 2560 mule lambs. Topping at £129 was 12 strong sorts from G D Herdman, Edlingham. Mr I Potts, Redburn brought forward his usual stamp of powerful mule lambs who reached £125 for 62 stonkers, an outstanding 57 pens of mule lambs sold over £100.
Suffolk x lambs reached £142 from E Milburn & Son, Holling Hill. NS and C Robinson, Burmoor sold a pen of 20 Suffolk x lambs to make £135, this home sold 155 big lambs to average £132.90.
Horned lambs sold to fantastic returns with a pen of 22 Blackface lambs reaching £102 from RG & LA Grieve, Whiteside. Featherwood Partners sold a pen of 100 Blackface lambs to £99 with a further 46 more at £88. Swale lambs also sold to £89 for the great annual consignment from JP & F Scott, Westburnhope who also sold a great pen of 91 Swales to £80, M W Emmerson, Bondisle also sold another strong pen of Swales to £79.
Cheviots sold to strong demand topping at £119 for 24 from G D Herdman, Edlingham, the Cheviots all in averaged £102.80 more could certainly sold to vendors advantage.
