Cast Cows
An increased entry of Cast Cows and Bulls this week created which created increased interest ringside. Trade again held firm with fleshier cows meeting a nice trade and easily cashed. A tremendous Limousin cross blue cow from Messrs Rochester & Murray, Glebe sold to the days highest price of 361.5p/kg and the days leading cow grossing price of £2689.56. A well fleshed black Limousin cross cow from H Huddleston, Round Meadows sold to 307.5p/kg. Feeding sorts again sold regularly to 255-265p/kg.
A very mixed show of cast bulls sold to 279.5p/kg for a Limousin from I Potts & Son Ltd, Hedley Park. Highest grossing bull was a hefty Angus from W S Robson & Co, Yatesfield which achieved £2778.00.

Hexham & Northern Marts sold 2415 Prime Lambs to a dearer trade with a lot of flesh forward although leaner sheep worth more in the store.
The sale topped at £203 from J G Milburn & Sons, Loadman. At £201 was Texel x lambs from W A & M Robson & Son, High Baulk.
Top ppk was 4 Beltex x lambs at 400ppk from J & E Walby & Sons, East House Farm.
