Cast Cows
Great numbers of Cast Cattle gracing the Hexham once again with 65 Cows and Bulls from the North of England and Scottish Borders. A poorer offering forward this week which met another firm trade and would be in line with the previous weeks.
Leading the sale with their first venture to Hexham was N, AM & S Trotter, Hoselaw Farm, Kelso whose tremendous red Limousin cross cow sold to 337.5p/kg and £3010.50. Local supporters J Lee & Sons, Morley Hill returned with another great run of cows which sold to 327.5p/kg for a Pure Limousin cow.
Native cows again sold to a premium reaching the height of 311.5p/kg twice for well fleshed sorts from Mr FT Walton, Flotterton. New customers, S & S Medley, Prospect Grange sold a tank of a Pure Angus cow to £2823.25.

Topping the sale at £250 was a Texel x lamb from W Christianson, Lawfield.
Top ppk was a pair of Texel lambs at 559ppk from J & E Walby & Son, East House Farm.
