Show & Sale of Crossing Type Bluefaced Leicesters

Hexham and Northern Marts held its inaugural sale of Crossing Type Blueface Leicester Rams.

A tremendous show of quality was put before judge Mr Ian Potts, Redburn, who placed Martyn Archer’s super ram lamb (S007) overall Champion, which went on to realise £3600.

With a fine show of lambs on offer to a packed ringside, many lambs passed the £1000 mark and exceeding vendors expectations, including a smart lamb (S025) from Neil Marston, Highberries, realising £3000, by the renowned Highberries Goldenboy.

Shearlings sold to a nice trade with smaller types harder to place, peaking at £1300 for a powerful Tup from Messrs Hunter, The Steel.

The company would like to thank all vendors who supported this new Show & Sale, and also our kind sponsors J S Hubbuck Ltd and Youngs RPS. The auctioneers were delighted with the turnout of both purchases & onlookers that packed the ring and made this new evening fixture a great success. See you all next year!
