Hexham and Northern Marts sold an entry of 485 cast ewes and hoggs to a stronger trade using a new sale format.

Topping the sale at £360 was a Texel ewe from GD Wilson, Hawthorneside. Not far behind at £345 was R Kellett & Sons, Errington Farm

A pen of Suffolk ewes sold to £258 from J Lee, Snape.

Shortage of strength in the mule department however topping at £190 for a pen from WH Smith &Sons, West Shields.

Hill Cheviot ewes sold to £160 for a pen of 25 from FT Walton, Shilmoor.

Blackface ewes sold to £149 for a pen of 20 from Dudlees Partners.

Swale ewes sold £138 from K Smith &Sons, East Greenridge.

More wanted to meet strong buyer demand at Hexham.
