Cow trade goes from strength to strength, with another uphill lift seen this week. An entry that comprised mainly of native bred cows sold to a solid average of 178.8p/kg.
First calved heifers sold to 243.5p/kg for Angus from Messrs F Hall & Son, Ashview, and at the same price was a Limousin cross from Nilston Rigg Farms, Langley.
Cows sold to 205.9p/kg for a Limousin cross from Mr R A Ogle, Comb Hills.
Big thick Angus cross cows sold to 207.5p/kg from Mr F T Walton, Flotterton.
Leading grossing beast came down the A1 from Alnwick, from Mr W D Allen, Humbleheugh. The pure Angus cows went on to sell for £1875.97.
