A large entry of cows forward this week with a large percentage of the sale being made up of freshly weaned hill cows.
Trade in line with last weeks sale with the better end of continentals surpassing the 220ppk barrier.
Leading the sale and travelling all the way down from Alnmouth was H Tulip & Son, Bilton Farm with an outstanding Limousin x cow carrying flesh selling to 261.5ppk and £2136.46.
G A & D E Thompson, Howburn made another successful trip to Hexham and sold Limousin x cows to 259.5ppk.
Mr J W Metcalf, Palm Strothers sold British Friesian x cows to 149.5ppk and £1188.53.

Hexham & Northern Marts sold 1795 prime lambs to a slightly reduced trade, however there was no where near as good a show as previous weeks.
The overall average was up 25ppk on the year.
Topping the sale was a pair of Texels at £139 from Mr P Dickinson, Rugley Walls.
Top ppk went to Messrs J & E Walby & Sons, East House with Beltex x at 305ppk.
