Hexham & Northern Marts offered a small and mixed entry of 43 head of cattle at their weekly sale. The sale peaked at £1580 for the first beast sold on the day; a big black Limmy cross bullock from Messrs Telfer Bros, Make-me-rich, Capheaton who also topped the female entry with a heifer sister to the first which changed hands at £1360.
A small offering of Angus cattle made up the bulk of the sale and these peaked at £1280 for a bullock at 16 months from Alan Cowan, Westerheugh whilst heifers scaled to £1220 for the best pair at the same age from Jim, Helen & Julia Gledson, Buteland, Bellingham.
