Trade for the older stores remained to be strong and consistent with the previous weeks returns. Leading the sale today was an outstanding Charolais cross steer which came out of a great run of cattle from PC Charleton, Little Harle, realising £2820.00.
Another terrific Charolais cross steer was in the money selling to £2780.00 from J & D Longlands, Tone Hall. P & PM Walker, Houselope Grange returned with another fine run of Blonde cross steers which were eagerly sought after and sold to a high of £2680.00.
Hazel Clarke, Holly Hill West was the beneficiary of the large competition ringside for quality heifers and sold a Limousin cross to £2650.00. George Herdman, Luns House brought a very nice run of well grown, fleshy Limousin cross heifers which cashed to £2520.00. The younger suckled calves saw a fabulous trade once again which maintained right until the end. Taking full advantage of the competitive Hexham Friday store ring was W O Grix & Partners, Hill Head.
