Store Lambs
St Johns Chapel Mart sold a fantastic entry of 1812 Store Lambs to a flying trade exceeding all vendors expectations, peaking at £140 from loyal St Johns supporters D Fletcher & D Coates, Shortthorns and a sale average of an outstanding £102.88 which includes over 650 Swale, Mule and Cheviot lambs.
Texel x lambs sold very well with lambs to £137 from Ludwell Farm and £136 from D Scott.
A pen of 54 Texel x lambs from previously mentioned D Fletcher & D Coates, Shortthorns sold to £129 and this home averaged £117 for 212 lambs.
Also special mentions must go to D Fletcher & D Coates for donating a lamb to PAPYRUS UK charity which raised in total £1300 and was very kindly purchased by Mick Coulthard, Drew Patrick, John Bowes, Peter Monkhouse, George Slack, Ben Haigh and Dennis Bulman.
S A Suddes, Thornley Pit House sold 52 great Texel x lambs to £125.
Suffolk x lambs sold to £124 from R Maddison, Crowberry.
Cheviot x lambs sold to £110 for 18 toppers from W R Walton & Son, Blackcleugh
Mule lambs sold very well again reaching £109 for 13 from, J L Archer, Whitehill who sold 65 more at £107. D Humble, Allergill sold a pen of 110 Mules to £100.
Swales sold to £70 for 26 from Weardale Estates with 25 more at £65 and J R D & J A Short, Ouston sold 37 to £61.
